How to get on the first page of Google
When you have build yourself a nice website you probably want some visitors on it. You want to let Google index your website and in that way appear in the SERP’s. In this article I will explain how you can get on the first page of Google. Actually it is not that difficult to appear on page one of Google, it is all a matter of choosing topic and know a little about SEO.
First let me rephrase what I just said. Off course it is not easy to get on page one of Google, that is if your website is about very competitive topics like loans, beauty products or making money online. These are very hard topics to rank high in Google as you can make a lot of money with these subjects. But the world does not end with creditcards and acne, there are a million more keywords to choose from. Getting on page one of Google is a matter of researching the competition. You want to write about a subject like loans or creditcards but because of the competition you will not get ranked on page one, not even close.
But if you search another topic with less competition than you have a good chance to get on page one just by selecting the wright domain name, website name and getting some back links.
A domain name is a very important SEO factor. If you do not believe me than do a search in Google for credit cards and you will see creditcards.com on number one and off course this is no coincidence. If you want to write about a topic than it is important that you have your keywords in to your domain name. If you want to write about the difference between dementia and alzheimers than having these keywords in your domain will give you a huge benefit.
A more important factor is to choose a topic with not much competition. If you see the example above, you will see that there are a few PR 1’s on top and one PR4. You will not need much SEO work to get on top of the Google rankings with this keyword.
Domain name and research are important factors, but you will always need back links to your website. Without them you will not get anywhere. However an important issue is that you have to get the correct anchor texts when you are making links. There are a few rules you should keep in mind when it comes to linking and the use of anchor text. Read more about this in one of my other posts.
This article was about how to get on the first page of Google and I gave some simple advice that will help you achieving this. Always keep in mind that more competition will mean more SEO work and it will be much tougher to get on Google page 1.
